At BTC a comprehensive, holistic play-based assessment is conducted within a family-centred approach before a treatment plan is initiated. This first assessment aims to determine:

  • The baby’s positive attributes and resilience factors.
  • The development status of the child.
  • Possible barriers to active participation in activities of daily living.
  • The family needs and goals.

The team conducting the first evaluation typically consists of a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech-Language and Feeding Therapist. The team discussed and determines goals for intervention in conjunction with the parents or caregivers.

The evaluation is billed according to medical aid rates.
