Maretha graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1990. She worked  in private practice until 2006, after which she lectured at the Occupational Therapy Department at the University of Pretoria until 2018. She completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2014. Maretha has been doing Vision Therapy since 2018 at Heath.Wentzel Optometrists and returned to an Occupational Therapy private practice in 2020.

She has a special interest in Sensory Integration, is Neuro-Developmental Therapy (NDT) trained and is a Tomatis Listening Therapy Practitioner. Maretha enjoys working with children between the ages of 3- and 9-years, who present with developmental delays and/or learning difficulties.
